SCOTT is an outstanding server. Always upbeat and efficient. Every dining experience is better than the last. We frequent BLACK BEAR because of Scott! Keep up the great work!!!!

We had a very nice dinner, our waiter Scott was fantastic. We can't wait to go back. He was conscientious and polite, our food was hot and delish!

Absolutely excellent! The food was great, and the service was fabulous. Funny thing is my husband has been wanting steak for several days but we couldn't think of a place to go. Last minute we stopped here on our way home and it was a good thing. He ordered the Prime Rib special and said it was great. I had a Chicken dinner with sautéed mushrooms and the best fresh veggies! Everything was Delicious! The servings were huge. Our server was Scott and honestly, service couldn't have been any better. We'll be back soon.

We sat outside to enjoy the day we waited for a while for our food due to the fact they gave it to someone else so we had to wait a little longer but let me tell you it was way worth it the portions and flavor was really good so even though we had the mishap I truly enjoyed the food

Scott was a great server! Really enjoyed the ScramBowl! So yummy...and huge! I asked for a box right away because it's so much food! If I paid for one meal, but that ScramBowl will be 3 meals for me so I don't have to cook for a couple of days - awesome!

Black Bear Diner is a good choice for breakfast. Easy access, lots of parking and plenty of booths and tables. I like the calorie counts on the menu- encourages me to at least try to hold on to my diet goals... Service is friendly and quick. The prices reasonable and decor goes for "family diner" very nicely.

I am enjoying their Shasta Veggie Scramble. I wish I had some words for praising food, because this is terrific. The dish in the picture is a 2-egg scramble with spinach and eggs. I'm glad I went with the potato option on this one, because the bell peppers, avocado bits, (and what else?) mix in well with the potatoes. All this with a 2-egg breakfast! Bring a hearty appetite. If you eat normal portions, plan to take away leftovers.

I was looking for a restaurant to rest and catch up on the cellphone. Black Bear Diner is located a block from the Ventura highway, mere blocks from the beach. This is exactly what I was looking for. Menu is immense. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available. I had two eggs over easy, sausage and a waffle. There was so much food I could only eat half of it. Perfect sausage with juicy on the inside crispy on the outside. The sausage is made on the premises. There are three types of hot sauce from all Black Bear. The Baby Burn was just right. Could not have asked for a more empathetic server. She gave me a great deal of time and checked on me only when I needed coffee. She offered a side of beans when I asked about it (I saw Mexican meals on the menu). The music is nice. Gentle rock. The tables are room and separated by enough. Space you cannot hear conversations. I will definitely return.
